WRITING THE SOUL
with Brad Wetzler

The world pulls you outward—toward tasks, expectations, noise. But beneath it, something steady remains—a voice that never stopped speaking.

You hear it in quiet moments, in the rhythm of waves, in the stillness before the day begins.

This course is about learning to listen to that voice—and using writing as a tool to gain clarity, confidence, and a deeper connection to yourself.

Through guided journaling, storytelling, and reflection, you’ll make sense of your experiences, understand your inner world, and move forward with intention.

This journey is for writers and non-writers alike. It benefits seekers who want to use writing for personal growth and self-discovery as well as writers seeking clarity on their next project.

Your words are waiting. Your wisdom is ready. Let’s begin.

Course Overview

Join Brad Wetzler, author of Into the Soul of the World, along with acclaimed guest teachers, for an eight-week journey of soul-centered reflection, writing, and inquiry.

Over eight weeks, you’ll explore your inner world through discussion, guided journaling, and meditation. Along the way, you will:

  • Cultivate a deeper connection with your inner compass and source of wisdom
  • Gain clarity on your purpose and path
  • Establish a strong journaling and writing practice
  • If you’re a writer, lay the groundwork for your memoir, nonfiction book, or novel
  • Create a SoulMap—a personal blueprint to integrate your insights and shape a more empowered future

Create Your Own SoulMap

Your SoulMap is a unique, written blueprint—designed to support you beyond the eight-week course. This personal guide will help you:

  • Integrate insights and lessons into daily life by identifying key themes, setting intentions, and creating daily or weekly reflection rituals.
  • Define the practices that keep you connected to your inner wisdom, such as a morning journaling habit, guided meditations, movement, or nature-based rituals.
  • Map your next steps with clarity and confidence by outlining goals, anticipating challenges, and developing a personalized action plan for creative and spiritual growth.

Your soul already knows the way. Now, you have a map to follow.

What You’ll Experience:

This course is designed as a transformative journey—each week builds on the previous one as you delve deeper into self-discovery, creative expression, and soulful storytelling. Guided by a range of guest teachers from various disciplines, you will gradually unearth your inner truth, embody its wisdom, and integrate the lessons into a lifelong narrative of growth and healing.

Week 1: What is Soul? Writing as a Portal to the Sacred.
Led by Brad Wetzler, Author and Teacher

For years, I wandered in search of answers—tracing ancient paths, learning from revered spiritual teachers, and exploring sacred spaces—only to realize that the truth was always within me. In this foundational week, we turn inward with guided writing, reflection, and discussion, laying the groundwork to connect with the soul’s voice. This initial exploration sets the stage for a deeper, more intentional journey ahead.

Week 2: Unearthing the Hidden Soul.
Guest Teacher: Adam Guzman-Poole, Existential Therapist and Teacher

Building on your newfound inner awareness, we now delve into the layers beneath the surface. The soul often hides truths—masked by fear, shame, or resistance. Through meditation, self-inquiry, and intuitive writing, Adam Guzman-Poole will guide you in unearthing these concealed aspects. This week deepens your self-understanding and prepares you to embrace the authentic narrative that unfolds from within.

Week 3: Embodying the Soul.
Guest Teacher: Melissa Walker, Somatic Sex Therapist

As you begin to recognize the inner layers of your being, it’s time to bring that awareness into your body. In this session, Melissa Walker will lead you in somatic awareness practices, movement, and breath-centered writing. By translating bodily sensations and memories into language, you learn to trust the wisdom held within your physical self. This embodiment marks a pivotal transition from inner discovery to lived experience.

Week 4: The Soul in the Wild – Nature as Mirror and Guide.
Guest Teacher: Michelle Dowd, Author

With a deeper understanding of your inner and bodily landscapes, we now turn outward to the natural world. Nature, with its ever-changing cycles of growth and decay, becomes a powerful mirror reflecting our inner states. Under Michelle Dowd’s guidance, engage in place-based writing, seasonal reflections, and immersive observation. This week, you’ll discover how the wild rhythms of nature resonate with your personal journey, offering fresh insights and inspiration.

Week 5: The Soul’s Symbols – Recognizing the Patterns That Shape Us
Guest Teacher: Radha Marcum, Poet

As the course unfolds, recurring symbols and motifs begin to emerge from your experiences. Poet Radha Marcum will help you identify and interpret these powerful images through mythic storytelling and symbolic writing exercises. This exploration reveals that every image, theme, and metaphor in your life is part of an interconnected tapestry—each element deliberately placed to guide you toward a fuller understanding of your soul’s narrative.

Week 6: Writing the Soul’s Fire – Transforming Pain into Meaning.
Guest Teacher: Emily Rapp Black, Author

Having uncovered both personal symbols and hidden truths, you now face the transformative power of pain. In this session, memoirist Emily Rapp Black will show you how to harness the alchemy of writing to transform struggle into insight. Through practices that emphasize honesty and self-compassion, you’ll learn to channel your pain into a creative, life-affirming fire—integrating the lessons of hardship into a more empowered narrative.

Week 7: The Ancestral Soul – Writing to Remember, Honor, and Heal.
Guest Teacher: To be Revealed Soon

Now that you have cultivated a rich inner dialogue and transformed personal pain, this week invites you to extend your exploration to your ancestral roots. Through reflective exercises and storytelling, you will honor the wisdom, struggles, and legacy of your forebears. By writing to remember and heal inherited narratives, you forge a deeper connection with the lineage that has shaped your soul—integrating personal insight with collective memory.

Week 8: Living the Soul’s Story – Trust, Integration, and Lifelong Connection.
Led by: Brad Wetzler

This is not the end—it’s the beginning of a lifelong journey. Writing is a way of living with awareness, curiosity, and trust in the soul’s unfolding story. Brad will guide reflective writing and discussions on faith, doubt, and integration. Together, we’ll celebrate our progress as we step into our next chapter—one where we continue to listen, write, and live in deep alignment with the soul’s call.
